Primary 6/7 had the most amazing trip to Specialist Group on Monday.
We had a fun-filled morning exploring all of the different departments.
Our morning began in the finance department, estimating the cost to make our school plaque.
Then we moved on to the sales department and put our mental maths skills to the test, working out area, perimeter and total costs.
Next, we visited the design team to see the software in action and then we moved on to the machine shop to see our plaque being made. We loved seeing SAM the robot in action.
With our plaque made, we got the chance to use the spray paint guns. Finally, we were given the task of wrapping our plaque for despatch. Marty was very happy that our wrapping met the required standards.
We loaded our plaque carefully on to the lorry and we are patiently waiting on delivery.
A huge thank you to everyone at Specialist Group for your hospitality and the delicious lunch. It was fantastic for our boys and girls to apply the mathematical skills that they have been learning in school and to see all of the possible careers they could have in the future.
